I'm using a Brother All-in scanner which I bought 3 years ago and whilst its scanning software is not bad it's much slower and has way less options than VueScan. My operation system is Windows I can recommend VueScan without hesitation.

Show Progress Meter Displays the progress of print jobs as they are being printed. Check Paper Width Before Printing Prevents printing beyond the edges of the paper if the paper size setting is incorrect; Separator Page Before each document, prints a separator page containing the title, user, date, and time.
Page Rendering Mode Increases print speed when printing is extremely slow or the print head stops during printing. Page You see your application's Print window, such as this one: 2.
